Stupid Question of the Day

It's a common occurrence. You're talking to someone on a cell phone, and the call is dropped. Now you have a quandry... Do you call back immediately, and thus risk the chance that the other party is doing the same, and so you get each other's voicemails? Or do you wait for the other party to call you? But again, what if the other party is thinking the same thing, and so you're both just sitting there waiting for your phones to ring like a couple dufuses?

Shouldn't there be some kind of universal protocol here? (Or maybe there is one, and someone can enlighten me.) Does the person who was talking when the call dropped have the responsibility to call back, or is it the person who originated the call in the first place? Please help me by taking part in my poll!
