Okay... I've given this "blog thing" some thought, and after just six weeks of trying it out, I'm going to give it a rest... for now. Here are my reasons why:
1) One reader of this blog said they are not convinced blogging is the best use of time. Neither am I. At least for me.
2) While many blogs are informative, challenging, and edifying, (and I will continue to read such blogs), many other blogs are simply a place for gossip, idle talk, and general ugliness. I do not want the temptation of falling into the latter category.
3) Typed words are easily misinterpreted. One cannot see facial expression or hear tone of voice when reading the written word. (The same principle applies to email.) I do not want to be misinterpreted.
4) I have a tendency to be too candid. Some thoughts are better left to myself.
I may blog again at some point in the future, but for now, I am done. Thank you to those who read my blog, and especially my church family who encouraged me with kind words. I will continue to send "Hallmail," to my church folks (my bi-monthly email newsletter) and will no doubt include an occasional opinion piece in those.
Now... Off to the fishin' hole, and go Cardinals!
