When Was the Last Time Your Church Did Something New?

"Sing to the Lord a new song"...  "if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation"...  "a new heaven and a new earth"

I'm going to make a deep theological statement here...  The Lord likes new stuff.  He makes new things, and He likes it when His children offer new things to Him.  New is fresh.  New is life-giving.  New represents thought and effort.  New is exciting.

When was the last time your church did something new?

One thing I have always appreciated about Selmore is that they are willing to try new things.  One of our key lay leaders always says, "We'll try it once and if it doesn't work, we'll know not to do it anymore."  Church people, do you know how liberating it is to your pastor to have permission to try something and fail?  It's a gamechanger!

Is there a culture of "new" in your church?  Is it okay to try new things, even risky things?  If not, will you be the one that's brave enough to step up and say, "Hey, let's give this a try?"
