Don't Get Your Hopes Up

Some guys always present stimulating topics for discussion on their blog, with well-organized thoughts, and super neat nuggets of information. (For the record, I do not like these guys.) I don't know what to type tonight. I just imagine everyone is tired of seeing my thoughts on the Bears, so here's some new stuff...

Rachel is still pregnant. She's been having regular contractions for a couple weeks now, but Levi is being stubborn. The ninth month of pregnancy is wearing thin on all of us, as I guess it's supposed to. Rachel's birthday is on the 23rd of this month. Perhaps Levi is shooting for Mom's birthday? That would be pretty cool. Pray.

Today was a stressful day. Long story short, we were running into some major obstacles with Christian County Planning & Zoning with our new church building. The Planning & Zoning office, however, was very nice and merciful to us, and it looks like it may work out. We had our people praying about our meeting today, and I am quite sure the positive response we got was due to their prayers. Thank you Lord for watching over Selmore.

Sunday was a great day at Selmore. Two people (a pre-teen boy, and a 30-something man) made public professions of faith Sunday morning. Two other people (a mom and daughter) also came forward to unite with our church. There are other decisions I'm aware of, that haven't yet been made public. God is moving at Selmore, and we are thankful... Sunday night we had a music group from Southwest Baptist University called "Higher Ground." They did a great job, pastors. I would highly recommend them. They are sweet kids.

Miscellaneous thoughts... Another ice storm for the Ozarks tomorrow. My four year old still hasn't seen a decent snow in her lifetime. I would much rather have snow than ice. Ice is downright nasty... The Bobby Knight rumors are swirling around Missouri State. Intriguing, but I'll believe it when I see it... As I type, I'm watching Shaquille O'Neal give his first postgame press conference as a Phoenix Sun. He is one of the most engaging, likeable, and truly funny guys in professional sports... My McCain-Obama prediction (post-Iowa) is looking pretty good. Just call me Tim Russert... I've been daydreaming about the beach. I love the ocean. I don't think I'd want to live at the beach, but I sure could "stand" a couple trips a year!... Fishing is getting closer. It's about time for me to start dreaming about it at night... Speaking of dreams, it's time for me to go to bed... If I get an idea for a truly informative/inspiring blog, you'll be the first to know. But don't get your hopes up!
