I was tired of looking at the Mark McGwire blog. The more I read it, the more irrational it sounded, so I needed a new post. I don't have anything specific to post about, so here are some random thoughts. If you have nothing better to do than to read my random thoughts, I will pray for you! . . .
Rachel is done with her first semester of graduate work. I am back to my Monday sabbath schedule, and will be able to maintain it for the foreseeable future thanks to Grandma Rose agreeing to watch the girls this spring. My world is now back in order . . . My Missouri State Bears are not very good. After watching them struggle to get by Texas Pan American last night, I am predicting a 7-11 finish in the Valley . . . Speaking of the Bears, Blake Ahearn is averaging over 12 pts a game, and is shooting over 47% from 3 point range in the NBA developmental league . . . We have a baby boy due in March, and are trying to finalize the name. We want to use a Hall family name for the first name. The two most used names in my lineage are Levi and Jehu. Hmmmmm, maybe I should start a poll . . . Watched Huckabee on Larry King last night. Don't know if he'll win, but he impresses me. I agree with Dr. Marshall; just one time I would love to reach through the screen and flip Larry's suspenders . . . I think the Missouri Baptist Convention is making a big mistake by cutting ties to "Acts 29 churches" . . . I know a lot of people are upset the Cardinals traded Jim Edmonds and let David Eckstein go, but I agree with the moves. It is time to retool . . . As of yesterday, I'm back on my diet. I lost 25 pounds over the summer, but have put 15 back on. Gotta get back on the horse . . . I have designated Crane Creek in Stone County as my scouting project for the winter. Crane Creek is known for its rainbow trout, but I hear it has some good smallmouth fishing as well. If anyone knows anything about this stream, and is willing to share, shoot me an email . . . I ate breakfast this morning with our church's architect/construction manager. Won't be too long before things start happening. 2008 will be an exciting year at Selmore! . . . Rachel took me to Bass Pro yesterday and let me pick out my own Christmas presents. Talk about a kid in the candy store! . . . After Christmas is over, I'm going to preach through the book of Exodus. Reading it now, I'm seeing some pretty cool sermon material . . . Have you ever seen a forecast missed worse than last weekend's? . . . You heard it here first, Miami over New England in week 16 of the NFL . . . I am obviously delusional. Time to go to bed.
